Coconut… The Tree Of Life

Coconuts have been closely tied to the Thai way of life for a very long time. And there are many beliefs about coconuts that relate to life, from birth till death. This is because every part of a coconut tree can be used: the roots for medicines, the tender tips for food, the coconut meat for coconut milk or oil, the roughage as high in protein animal feed, the coconut shells as a dipper or musical instrument, the husk for spouting seeds and the coconut stalk from the leaves can be used to make brooms. It is not exaggerating to claim that the coconut is a multipurpose plant.
